About FSA
The Florida Student Association (FSA) is an organization representing over 300,000 students in the State University System. FSA is composed of the student body presidents of the state universities and their respective staffs.

The association is committed to advocating and securing quality higher education at an affordable price. Additionally, we develop student leaders, share best practices and maximize the effectiveness of educated and responsible students in the shared-governance of the State University System and its institutions.

Common Interests

  • Guaranteeing the survival of each university student government as the free, independent, and official representative of the student body, with its fundamental values intact and its institutions and students secure.

  • Providing a stable and safe state political climate, free of major threats to the students, or to the student governments, of the State University System of Florida

  • Protecting student authority to allocate and expend student activity and service fees.

  • Serving as a resource center for the state and national higher education research.

  • Providing for leadership development of students and student leaders on our respective campuses.

  • Assuring a quality and affordable education for the students of the State University System of Florida.

  • Safeguarding student rights and defending students from the decisions by university officials which are arbitrary or capricious, discriminatory, or which adversely affect their interests without due process of the law.

  • Advancing student empowerment and student self-governance throughout the state and nation.
